Working with payments

You will receive your money from any credit and debit card advance sales via your PayPal account. Please see your PayPal account terms and conditions to determine when you will be receiving these funds, usually a few days after the transaction is made.

If you need to refund a booking, then you need to do this through your PayPal account.

Refunding through PayPal

If you cancel an event or just want to refund a purchaser, then you use your PayPal account to process your refunds. PayPal says:

<quote>
Send a Refund Easily
Send a refund to a buyer conveniently. With PayPal, you can send refunds - or partial refunds - within 60 days of receiving a payment.

It's quick.
Just click Refund on the Transaction Details page of the payment you wish to refund.

It's flexible.
In addition to being able to refund your buyer any time within 60 days of receiving a payment, you can also opt to send a Partial Refund.

It's affordable.
Your original transaction fee will be credited to you. When issuing partial refunds, a portion of the original fees paid will be returned to you.

It's easy.
Here's how it works:
  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click the History subtab.
  3. Find the payment you would like to refund.
  4. Click Details to open the Transaction Details page.
  5. Click the Refund Payment link.
  6. Enter the refund amount and click Submit.
  7. Confirm the refund amount and click Submit.

<end quote>

Please refer to your own PayPal account information for the most up to date version of this process.

Using the right PayPal email address

If the email address that you enter in ts Express is not exactly the same as your main PayPal email address, your transactions will fail in ts Express but succeed in PayPal. So your customers will get a message from PayPal saying they have paid (and will show in your PayPal account) but they will not get tickets and you will not see their bookings in your reports. [N.B. When we say exactly the same, we mean just that. So if your email address has capital letters in PayPal, then it needs the same capital letters in ts Express!]

This fraud prevention feature in ts Express is designed to protect you from certain types of interception fraud.

To avoid this, just make sure that your email address in ts Express for PayPal is the same as your main address for PayPal. This can be changed in your management page.

Exclamation Using a personal PayPal account

If you enter an email address for your PayPal account with ts Express that is NOT for a PayPal Website Payments Standard account your users will get strange messages!

PayPal will appear to accept their payment (the customer gets a confirmation email), but the payment will not actually be processed, and your customer will then get a "transaction failed" message from ts Express and they will not be able to print out their tickets.

Soooo... please make sure that you have entered the right email address and that this is the email address for a PayPal Website Payments Standard account.

Customers pay with PayPal but unable to print tickets

"We have been unable to accept your payment. Please contact customer services"

If your customers get this message at the end of their payment, but get a confirmation email from PayPal, then it means that your PayPal account is on hold.

If you log into your PayPal account, you will find that PayPal are asking you to confirm that you wish to accept these payments.

Once you accept the payments, all *should* run smoothly, and your customers should from then on be able to print out their tickets.

Returned Or Cancelled Tickets

If someone wants to return their tickets, is it possible to 'un-sell' them as well as refund their payment (I've seen how to refund them already thanks).

To refund tickets and reallocate tickets back into the system, we would advise you to send the booking number and any associated info into support@ts.com and we will process this for you.
